With the release of The International Battle Pass and the season of DotA at its height, Valve has announced the six teams that have earned a direct invite to TI7.

Unsurprisingly OG was first on the list, probably something to do with them winning both Majors this year. IG reaching the semifinals during the Kiev Major ensured that they would move on to the TI. Evil Geniuses consistency this year plus winning the first-place trophy at the Manila Majors has solidified their spot. Newbee showed themselves as a stiff competitor, winning Galaxy Battles and the second-place spot in China Top. Liquid defeating EG during EPICENTER in Moscow made them the second strongest pick for Valve for EU. The Most surprising, but correct pick from Valve was the team Virtus.pro. Virtus.pro’s amazing win during Dota Summit 7, deciding to never choose the same Hero twice sealed their fate.

The International Championships will be held once again at the Key Arena in Seattle, 7-12 of August.

Regional qualifiers are currently being held for those twelve other teams wishing to compete for the Aegis.
