Red Bull has been around in the esports industry for years with the brand frequently appearing as a sponsor for events, players and teams across multiple titles in addition to their own amateur tournament series known as the Red Bull Proving Grounds for Street Fighter V among many other projects. The company that has spent most of its time supporting esports has announced a new European League of Legends team that will be led by former H2K Gaming and Team Vitality Support player Raymond « kaSing » Tsang, the company announced Friday.
The Red Bull eSports team will be taking part in the EU LCS Summer Challenger Series Qualifiers tournament after acquiring the slot and players of team R.B who defeated Team Singularity 2-0 on May 1st at the EU West CS Open Qualifier tournament.
The team is comprised of the following players:
- Kwon « Thal » Hyuk Park (Top)
- Moojin « Moojin » Kim (Jungle)
- Felix « MagiFelix » Bostrom (Mid)
- Tarik « Sedrian » Holz (Marksman)
- Raymond « Kasing » Tsang (Support)
- Oliver « Izpah » Steer (Head Coach)
In the EU LCS Summer Challenger Series Qualifiers, Red Bull will be one of 12 teams competing for the two slots in the EU Challenger Series for the upcoming Summer Split. Teams who make it through the qualifiers will be going up against Origen, Giants Gaming, Paris-Saint Germain, and Schalke 04 for a shot at one of the coveted EU LCS spots in the 2018 Spring Split
