Razer launches its offensive in online video game distribution
Business Video Games

After smartphones, the gaming accessories specialist will launch a competing distribution platform from Steam.

Razer continues its moulting. The well-known brand of gamers with its PCs and accessories tailored for video games has been diversifying for some time. After smartphones, the specialist will launch a video game download platform competing with Steam or UPlay.

« We have always delighted players with our high-performance peripherals, laptops and software, and now we can bring them the games that are their passion, » said co-founder and CEO of Min-Liang Tan, quoted by Les Echos.

Launched simultaneously in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France, the Razer Game Store already has a well-stocked catalogue thanks to partnerships signed with renowned publishers such as Bethesda, Rockstar and the French Ubisoft. The publisher of the Far Cry 5 cardboard has signed a partnership with Razer to propose exclusive offers.

To keep its ecosystem alive, the platform will also offer discounts on Razer devices or rewards through loyalty programs by obtaining zSilver credits for each purchase on the Razer Game Store.

« As players, we know the importance of bargains and the Razer Game Store offers them to everyone, » continues Min-Liang Tan.
