Team EnVyUs owner Mike ‘Hastr0’ Rufail has shed some light on the economics of the NA LCS.
EnVyUs entered the League of Legends scene in May of 2016, when the team bought the North American LCS spot formerly held by Renegades.
They found moderate success in their first split, making the Summer 2016 play-offs, but their Spring 2017 split saw them struggle more. After a disappointing regular season, EnVyUs found themselves facing relegation, having to fight the top teams from the NA Challenger Series to hold onto their spot.
It was a close affair, but EnVyUs were ultimately able to maintain their position in the LCS. Following the team’s success, Hastr0 took to Twitter to talk about the importance of the result.
