DMarket, the world’s first blockchain-based marketplace for trading in-game items, announced a partnership with Unity Technologies, creator of the world’s most widely-used real-time 3D development platform. The partnership allows any Unity-based game to easily connect to DMarket blockchain and make in-game assets available for virtual trading and exchange. The partnership also makes it possible for gamers to connect their game account to DMarket, create their assets inventory on DMarket and start trading, while keeping track of all relevant transactions.
“I see our alliance with Unity as a huge step forward and benefit for the entire gaming and Esports ecosystem all over the world,” said Vlad Panchenko, CEO and Founder of DMarket.
“Unity powers more than half of all new mobile games and 60 percent of all VR and AR content. DMarket enables every Unity game developer to receive access to the unlimited blockchain universe in order to make virtual items real, level up gaming experience and be the first to reap the benefits from skyrocketing blockchain markets.”
DMarket’s API is a ready-to-use solution for giving value to any digital item—whether it is armor, sword, gems, or other items—as well as item monetization. It enables any Unity game to generate in-game items on DMarket blockchain, withdraw them to a user account on DMarket, and migrate them back to the game. Gamers can manage items and withdraw them from game account to DMarket without leaving the game.
“Partnering with DMarket allows for a seamless and secure connection between Unity games and DMarket blockchain, making in-game assets more accessible for users,” said Peter O’Reilly, Head of Asset Store at Unity Technologies.
“DMarket is especially appealing to Unity because it’s tailored to each particular game developer and doesn’t affect existing game balance or gameplay. Given our focus on solving hard problems and democratizing development, it made sense to partner with DMarket and set our developers up for greater success.”
Games and experiences made with Unity have reached more than 3 billion devices worldwide in 2017 and were installed more than 20 billion times in the last 12 months.
